It is moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h. Light to Moderate rains are expected over #TawiTawi(TurtleIslands), #ZamboangaDelNorte, #ZamboangaSibugay(Payao, Imelda and Malangas) within the next 2-3 hours. Moderate to occasionally heavy rains are being experienced in #TawiTawi(Mapun), #Sulu(Pangutaran), #ZamboangaSibugay(Alicia, Mabuhay, Talusan and Olutanga) which may persist within 2-3 hours and may affect nearby areas.

BACOSFA holds Techno Demo Harvest Festival in Carrascal

CARRASCAL, Surigao del Sur -- The Bacolod Small Compact Farming Association (BASCOFA) of Brgy. Bacolod in Carrascal, Surigao del Sur  successfully conducted the Techno Demo Farm Harvest Festival and celebrated its culmination on November 3, 2021, at Sitio Kabongbongan, Brgy. Bacolod.

As part of the Department of Agriculture's (DA) Plant, Plant, Plant, Program, the Techno Demo Program aims to develop the vegetable farming technology of the local farmers in Carrascal town which will help them improve their productivity. The local government unit (LGU) of Carrascal has provided technical and logistical support to BASCOFA through the Municipal Agriculture Office.

Mayor Vicente Pimentel III extended his thanks to the DA for the success of the program implementation. He also thanked the members for their active participation. Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Jessie James Valle has also expressed his support and commitment in providing inputs and other assistance needed by the organization.

The Techno Demo Program is a collaborative intervention between the Department of Agriculture High-Value Crops Development Program (DA-HVCDP) and the LGU-Carrascal for the vegetable farmers of Barangay Bacolod. (LGU-Carrascal/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
