(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Saturday, 19 July 2025) As of 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “CRISING” was located at 530 km east of Juban, Sorsogon (13.0°N, 128.9°E). It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. It is moving west-northwest at 15 km/h. Tropical Depression Crising is currently affecting Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte, while the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect the rest of Mindanao. Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to TD Crising. Flash floods or landslides are possible during moderate to at times heavy rainfall. Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and the rest of Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by the Southwest Monsoon. The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, also due to the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be moderate from the southwest to west, with moderate seas (wave height: 1.2 to 2.5 meters).

Farmer’s association benefits P4.5M poultry project in SurSur town

TAGBINA, Surigao del Sur -- The Department of Agriculture (DA) - Caraga, through the Livestock Program and in coordination with Tagbina Research Station, turned over the Php4.5 million-worth of poultry project under the Bayanihan Act II to the different farmer’s associations in Tagbina, Surigao del Sur on November 11, 2021.

The turnover ceremony of the poultry project was led by the Regional Executive Director (RED) of DA-Caraga, Engr. Ricardo Oñate Jr. together with Regional Technical Director Rebecca Atega.

The project aims to provide the farmers additional sources of livelihood.  Livestock Program Coordinator Jekem Sanchez said that each beneficiary can avail 100 free-range chickens and two sacks of feeds sponsored by B-MEG. 

The fund for the poultry project was utilized under the DA-Caraga Livestock Program to procure free-range chicken and for the construction of the native chicken multiplier farm, which was launched in Tagbina Research Station. 

Aside from the poultry, there were also vegetable seedlings that were distributed to the barangays of Tagbina which they requested for the implementation of their Gulayan sa Tahanan program.

The farmers who were present during the turnover ceremony toured around the Tagbina Research Station including the said multiplier farm to observe the practices of poultry farms and other agricultural crops. (DA-Caraga/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
