Home for Boys in Butuan benefits from TESDAMayan

BUTUAN CITY -- In line with the 27th Anniversary Celebration of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the Regional Office in Caraga has brought TESDAMayan fever to Home for Boys in Butuan as the latter received grocery items from the employees.

During the short program conducted inside the facility, TESDA-Caraga Regional Director Tarhata S. Mapandi, CESO III underscored the importance of youth empowerment emphasizing their role in nation-building.

“As such, we at TESDA are here not only to give you with these grocery items but also to encourage each one of you to undergo skills trainings... and we are providing scholarships to those who are interested to learn,” Dir. Mapandi said.

It was learned that there are boarders who are already 15 years old and above and as such, they are already qualified to undergo skills training.

Bringing canned goods and other grocery stuff, employees of TESDA-Caraga Regional Office is at all-out support to the activity as they eagerly and happily mingled with some of the boys but still, minimum health care protocols was observed.

The employees were also entertained by a dance number of some of the younger boys in the facility.

This year’s TESDA Anniversary is anchored on the theme: “TESDA@27: Pagbangon, Pag-asa at Pag-abante sa Bente Syete”. (Robert E. Roperos, TESDA Caraga/PIA Caraga)
