‘Duterte Legacy’ campaign regional launch set in Caraga region

By Jennifer P. Gaitano

BUTUAN CITY – Different government agencies in Caraga region are all set for the simultaneous regional launch of the Duterte Legacy campaign dubbed “Barangayanihan Caravan Towards National Recovery" on September 30, 2021 to be held at the Tennis Court of Barangay 5 in Cabadbaran City.

Despite various challenges during this time of health crisis, the national government never ceased to extend the needed programs and services to the Filipino people particularly the Caraganons. And during this event, the most vulnerable sectors of Cabadbaran City and its neighboring towns will be able to avail of these free services from the government agencies including the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Health (DOH), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and Philippine Information Agency (PIA), among others.

The personnel from the Philippine National Police and other law enforcement agencies will also secure the place to ensure that the conduct of this event will be successful and peaceful.

Secretary Martin Andanar of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) will give the overview of the Duterte Legacy Campaign to convey the significant accomplishments of the Duterte administration while Cabinet Secretary Karlo Alexei Nograles, Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security (CORDS) being the keynote speaker will share the updates, ways forward and upcoming developments for the region.

Also, Agusan del Norte Governor Dale Corvera and Cabadbaran City Mayor Judy Amante will deliver their messages during this activity. Both have been supportive of the efforts and initiatives of President Duterte’s administration, hence ensured active participation of the local constituents who are greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, the beneficiaries of the different programs and services will also take this opportunity to express their testimonials and messages for President Duterte.

Strict health protocols will be imposed and observed by all the participating sectors at the venue. The activity will also be streamed live via the Facebook pages of PIA-Caraga, DILG and PNP-Caraga.

The enhanced Duterte Legacy campaign showcases the success of the different agencies following the implementation of new policies, projects and programs that provided better services to the people and reach the far-flung areas and the poorest of the poor. The main highlight of this campaign is to bring these government services directly to the people in the communities to experience it, and this is made possible through the collective efforts of various government agencies, civilians and other sectors.
