SurSur town donates lot to TESDA

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur, Aug 20 (PIA) -- The local government
unit (LGU) of San Miguel has donated a lot to the Technical Education
Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for the construction of a TESTA training
court in the town.
Mayor Hazel Elizalde represented by Rosely Lina handed over the deed of
donation documents to TESDA Provincial Director Julius Sol Jamero, together
with Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg) chief Marcos Quico during
the regular meeting of the Surigao del Sur Provincial Task Force - Ending Local
Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC), Poverty Reduction, Livelihood, and
Employment Cluster (PRLEC) held at the Surigao del Sur State University
(SDSSU)-San Miguel Campus in Barangay Carromata, San Miguel, Surigao del Sur.
The donated lot measures 9,627 square meters.
Meanwhile, Barangay Umalag in San Miguel town also availed the
scholarship training under the Executive Order No. 70 project that would
benefit the former rebels and Indigenous Peoples (IPs) in the area.
According to Dir. Jamero, Barangay Umalag has a total of 175 approved
scholarship slots for Organic Agriculture Production National Certificate II
(NC II).
Each scholar can avail of the free training, free assessment; P160 worth of daily training support fund, P500 worth of PPE allowance, and one-year accident insurance coverage from the Government Service Insurance System, Dir. Jamero noted. (PIA-Surigao del Sur)
