FORECAST: The Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon. These conditions may lead to possible flash floods or landslides, especially during moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall. The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also influenced by the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest, with slight to moderate seas (wave height between 0.6 to 2.1 meters).

370 Caraga cops on standby vs COVID-19

BUTUAN CITY, Mar. 28 -- The Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 has prepared additional 370 policemen on standby in case an additional force is urgently needed on the ground in the fight against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

"If there is a need for additional frontliners, we have 370 police personnel serving as Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) for COVID-19. They will be mobilized for the strict implementation of guidelines on localized community quarantine as well as the protocol set by the Inter-agency Task Force for the Management of Infectious Disease," Brigadier General Joselito Esquivel, Jr., Regional Director of PRO13 said.

As of now, almost 2,000 personnel from PRO13, Philippine Army's 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Coast Guard District Northern Mindanao, Bureau of Fire Protection 13, Department of Health, and local government units were already deployed to the different Quarantine Control Points regionwide.

Meanwhile, BGen. Esquivel continued to appeal to the local populace to cooperate with the personnel manning the quarantine control points adding that ensuring public safety against this dreadful disease is everyone's concern. (PRO13/PIA-Caraga)
