DTI strengthens consumer groups, conducts quarterly
capability enhancement activities
PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur, Apr. 21 (PIA) – A
total of 22 consumer group members have gathered recently for their first
quarter meeting cum capability enhancement seminar.
The activity was organized by the Department of
Trade and Industry (DTI) in its effort to provide continuous capability
building activities for the province’s consumer groups.
The participants who came from Pagpakabana sa
Katungod sa Konsumador sa Agusan del Sur (PAKKADS) and Brgy. 1 Consumer
Organization (B1CO) in San Francisco tackled the ways on how to stay safe as
consumers online.
During the session, it was learned that there were
some members who had been buying items online, and one time bought items
online, which did not arrive. The group
vowed to be critical and vigilant in buying in the future.
For the next quarters, the groups also commit to
participate in consumer advocacy activities like attendance to Kapisanan ng mga
Broadkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Hour tele-radyo program, participation in price
monitoring activities and act as co-anchor in the celebration of the Consumer
