SurSur all set to host 20th CRAM 2017

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur, Feb. 9 (PIA) –
Preparations for Surigao del Sur province’s hosting of the 20th Caraga Regional
Athletic Meet (CRAM) are all in place as the games will formally open on
Sunday, Feb. 12, in the city.
Earlier this week, several delegates from the
different school divisions of the five provinces of the region have already
arrived to familiarize the playing venues.
Athletes from the Surigao del Sur DepEd Division
arrived early this week and billeted at the Jacinto P. Elpa National High
School for their in-house training.
Meanwhile, Committee on Publicity, Media and
Communication Chair Liza Guingguing said that Airwoman First Class (A1C)
Hidilyn Diaz, a 2016 Olympic games silver medalist has also confirmed her
attendance for the CRAM.
Diaz will light the friendship urn on Sunday during

DTI Surigao Norte launches OPMS

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte, Feb. 9 (PIA) – The
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Surigao del Norte provincial office has
launched recently its Online Price Monitoring System (OPMS) dubbed as
“e-Presyo” at the Provincial Negosyo Center, Capitol Compound, this city.

Negapatan, the event was undertaken to inform the public that they can now
access anytime and anywhere the prices of DTI monitored products including the
stores with lowest price of basic necessities, prime commodities, construction
materials, noche buena products, school supplies and candles including
Comparative Prevailing Prices of goods or commodities using the DTI
"e-Presyo" application through their desktops, laptops, tablets and
mobile phones.
Negapatan said the “e-Presyo” is an Online Price
Monitoring System of DTI where consumers can check for the prevailing prices of
goods/commodities in various stores or establishments that are being monitored
by the DTI.
He further said that the "e-Presyo"
provides prevailing prices and stores with the lowest prices, Suggested Retail
Prices (SRPs) of basic necessities, prime commodities and also comparative
prevailing prices of goods or commodities mentioned above.
“The OPMS 'e-Presyo' will not only serves as a
price guide for consumers in doing their grocery shopping but also protects
consumers against unreasonable increases in prices thus ensuring 'value for
money,'” Negapatan added.

DENR sec visits Dinagat Islands
SAN JOSE, Dinagat Islands, Feb. 9 (PIA) –
Department of Environment and Natural Resouces (DENR) Secretary Regina Paz
Lopez visited recently the province of Dinagat Islands for a consultative
meeting held at the Loreto Municipal Gym, Loreto town.
In her message, Sec. Lopez was overwhelmed and
amazed by the scenery of the mystical province and encouraged all Dinagatnons
especially the local chief executives to love the island wholeheartedly because
of its uniqueness.
Right after her message, an open forum was also
conducted wherein several Dinagatnons expressed their sentiments against
irresponsible mining operators in the province.
Said open forum was participated by the barangay
officials from 100 barangays of the province as well as the members of the
Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP), municipal mayors of Loreto, Tubajon, Libjo and
Cagdianao, and chief executive officers (CEOs) of the different mining
companies in the province.
Secretary Lopez is scheduled for her second visit
to the province on Feb. 15, 2017, wherein she will have an audience with the SP

Mandatory segregation of waste imposed in AgNor

BUTUAN CITY, Feb. 9 PIA) - It is now mandatory to
segregate ecological solid waste and volume reduction at source within the premises
of the Provincial Capitol.
Under Provincial Ordinance No. 438-2017, passed and
approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Agusan del Norte on its third and
final reading on January 30, 2017, all offices in the Provincial Capitol, as
well as lessors and locators are mandated to adopt proper segregation of solid
waste within their respective offices.
This initiative seeks to maintain the cleanliness
within the Capitol premises and ensure the proper sanitation of the area and
health of the government workers and clients alike.
The Task Force in Ecological Solid Waste Management
shall take responsibility of overlooking the implementation of the said
provision.
The Provincial General Services Office (PGSO), in
coordination with the Environment and Natural Resources Division-Provincial
Governor’s Office, shall serve as the monitoring-in-charge in the
implementation of the ordinance.
Violators will be penalized as follows: first
offense- fine of P500.00; second offense-fine of P1,000.00 and third and succeeding

Agusan Norte okays Provincial Commodity Investment
Plan for CY 2017-2020

BUTUAN CITY, Feb. 9 (PIA) - The provincial
government of Agusan del Norte is all set for the Provincial Commodity
Investment Plan for CY 2017-2020.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Agusan del Norte,
through Provincial Resolution No. 033-2017, authored by Vice Governor Ramon AG.
Bungabong, recently adopted and approved the proposed enhanced Provincial
Commodity Investment Plan (PCIP) in the province of Agusan del Norte for CY
2017-2020 as embodied in Provincial Development Council (PDC) Resolution No.
01, series of 2017, and endorsed by Provincial Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell
M. Amante-Matba.
This plan, formulated in partnership with the
Department of Agriculture (DA) - Regional Field Office XIII and other
stakeholders, will serve as guide in the implementation of the Philippine Rural
Development Project (PRDP) and other national government-related economic
development programs in the province. It is a three-year strategic mutual
development plan between DA and the province that rationalizes the intervention
programs within the various segments of the value chain commodities in the local
government units (LGUs), which will also contribute to the national goals of
the agriculture and fishery sectors.
The PCIP contains a listing of top agriculture
commodities in the province where intervention programs are identified and
needed emphasis such as abaca, banana, coconut, coffee, cacao, crumb rubber,
mango, cassava and palm oil production. It also provides a mechanism to
identify specific programs, projects and activities as basis for funding from
concerned national government agencies and the provincial government of Agusan
del Norte.
Provincial officials believe that the plan will
accelerate the agriculture and economic developments of the province.

Senator Pimentel sends aid to Agusan Norte town

BUTUAN CITY, Feb. 9 (PIA) - The Senate Office of
Hon. Aquilino Martin de la Llana Pimentel III, a.k.a. Koko Pimentel, provided
relief aids to the typhoon-stricken municipality of Las Nieves, Agusan del
Norte.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Office (PDRRMO) of Agusan del Norte, headed by PDRRMO Chief Erma R.
Suyo, assisted the Office of the Senator Koko Pimentel and Las Nieves LDRRMO in
the delivery of relief aid to the affected communities of the municipality of
Las Nieves, this province on February 3.
Senator Koko Pimentel provided 500 relief packs to
the local government unit (LGU) of Las Nieves through its Municipal Mayor
Avelina Rosales.
The LDRRMO of Las Nieves also provided 700 family
packs to affected families of Barangay Lingayao, Las Nieves. (LGU-Agusan del
