Cagdianao spearheads 7-day SAR training

CAGDIANAO, Dinagat Islands, Oct. 12 (PIA) – The local government unit of Cagdianao, this province through the Municipal Disaster and Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) conducts a 7-day Basic Search and Rescue (SAR) Training from October 10-16, 2016 held at the Cagdianao Cultral and Sports Center, here.

According to Public Information Officer Rodolfo L. Alipayo, the said training aims to enhance disaster preparedness and response capacity of the local responders for flooding, landslide, and water incidents and basic trauma/medical emergencies.

“With the topographical location of our municipality which is surrounded by seawater, there is a high risk of natural disasters, it is imperative that the local government and local responders be prepared for any disasters,” says Alipayo.

DepEd supports Global Handwashing Day on Oct 15

BUTUAN CITY, Oct. 12 (PIA) – The Department of Education (Deped) supports the conduct of this year’s Global Handwashing Day on October 15.

Dr. Marivic M. Cuizon, assistant principal of Obrero Central Elementary School here said that handwashing will help save millions of lives because it will help protect especially the children from virus contaminations.

Also, Dr. Cuizon encourages school children to make handwashing a habit not only in their houses but also in school before eating their snacks and meals.

Dr. Cuizon also requested teachers to monitor their pupils’ compliance inorder to have a healthy body and mind so they can concentrate in their studies.

Global Handwashing Day is an annual global advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an easy, effective, and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives. (DepEd Butuan City Division/PIA-Agusan del Norte)


DepEd Butuan supports ‘One Million Lapis Campaign’

BUTUAN CITY, Oct. 12 (PIA) – The Department of Education (DepEd) Butuan City Division supports the advocacy campaign of the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) entitled ‘One Million Lapis Campaign.’

The DepEd Butuan City personnel and staff are inviting their partners from non-government organizations, parent-teachers associations, and other members of the community or the private sector to donate pencils for the campaign.

The donation of pencils for the campaign will be until October 26, 2016 only.

A designated drop box with the logo and details of the campaign are available in the different public schools of the city.

The One Million Lapis Campaign aims to collect one million pencils to be given to underprivileged children in elementary schools of the 4th to 6th class municipalities of the country.

DepEd Butuan to celebrate AD/HD week

BUTUAN CITY, Oct. 12 (PIA) – The Department of Education (DepEd) joins the AD/HD Society of the Philippines in celebrating the 2016 National Attention Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder (AD/HD) Awareness Week from October 16 to 22, 2016.

The theme of the celebration will focus on “Turning Disability into This Ability.”

The third week of October of every year is declared as National Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) Awareness Week in the country.

The celebration aims to increase public awareness on the effects of the characteristics and social issues faced by people with AD/HD; promote understanding and acceptance of people with AD/HD; and campaign for equal rights and access to basic services such as education, health and development which are often denied to persons with disability.

In Butuan City, DepEd encourages the Special Education (SPEd) Centers and other schools offering program for children with AD/HD in the forefront to participate in the said celebration. (DepEd Butuan City Division/PIA-Agusan del Norte)

Matugas ang pinakaunang Provincial and Municipal Officials Meeting/Dialogue sulod sa ika-100 nga adlaw nga panerbisyo sa iyang pinakaulahing termino niadtong Oktubre 7, 2016 didto sa PGO Convention Hall, ning dakbayan.

Sa mensahe sa gobernador ngadto sa tanang mga mayores sa nagkalain-laing mga kalungsoran iyang gipasabot ang pagpadayon sa pagpalambo sa ilang mga lungsod pinaagi sa pag-sunod sa mga tumong ug tinguha sa HEALS PLUS Program.
