OSHC Caraga bares upcoming activities

BUTUAN CITY, July 29 (PIA) – The Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) Caraga Regional Extension Unit XIII has set another trainings on OSH for the local government units and partner government agencies in the month of August 2016.

According to Engr. Christian Lee Jaguit, Engineer II of OSHC REU Caraga, they will be conducting the training on Scaffolding as per Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Department Order (DO) No. 128-13 on August 20-21, 2016 in Butuan City; Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training per DOLE D.O. No. 16 on August 25-28, 2016; and Training for Fire Safety Practitioners on August 29 – September 2, 2016 in Surigao City.

“We have been very active in conducting such trainings with our partners to capacitate them in their field of work, especially those handling construction works,” underlined Jaguit.

Jaguit also bared that as per DOLE D.O NO. 13, they conducted Construction Safety and Health (COSH) Training for local government units on May 30 – June 3, 2016 held in Surigao City with 77 total number of participants coming from the different cities, municipalities and provinces of Caraga. “This training was aimed to train our partners in the LGUs – Building Officials who are doing OSH practice as part of their job,” he said.

Also, another COSH Training was held on June 6-10, 2016 in Butuan City for private and government establishments. Said training is the required training for those who would like to practice as Safety Officers per DOLE D.O No. 13 or the Guidelines of OSH in the Construction Industry. “This training is also required for Authorized Managing Officer (AMO) who would like to secure PCAB license as contractors in the construction industry,” he added.

It was also learned that on June 28-30, 2016, they have conducted Training of Trainers for Mindanao, which is a required training for OSH practitioners who would like to be a resource speaker in DOLE-mandated OSH Trainings. (JPG/PIA-Caraga)


Tagalog News: Persons with Disability sa Caraga region tinipon para sa isang hands-on training kung paano eproseso ang pagparehistro ng PWDs online

BUTUAN CITY, Hulyo 29 (PIA) - Masayang dinaluhan ng mga Persons with Disability (PWDs) sa probinsya ng Agusan del Norte ang dalawang araw na Hands-on Training on the Utilization of Philippine Registry for Persons with Disability na ginanap dito sa lungsod ng Butuan.

Nasa mahigit 50 na mga PWDs ang naimbitahan sa nasabing hands-on training na pinangunahan ng Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) sa nasabing probinsya.

Ayon kay Ana Flerida Labanon, regional program coordinator ng National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA), layon ng nasabing training ay ang turuan at maibahagi sa mga PWDs ang tamang proseso ng pagrehistro online.

Dagdag pa ni Labanon, makakatulong ang hands-on training upang maseguradong tama ang datus o impormasyon na mailalagay sa database ng mga persons with disability hindi lamang sa probinysa ng Agusan del Norte, kundi pati na sa ibang probinsya ng Caraga region.

Magagamit rin umano ito ng gobyerno sa pagtukoy sa mga kinakailangang programa na makakatugon sa mga kinakaharap ng PWDs at maibigay ang akmang serbisyo para sa kanila.

Ipinahayag naman ni Mylyn Gunio, ang Provincial Federation of PWDs president sa Agusan del Norte, na lubos ang kanilang kasiyahan na patuloy na tumutulong ang gobyerno sa tulad nilang may kapansanan. Positibo umano sila na mga PWDs na sa pamamagitan ng online registration, mas marami pang PWDs ang maisali sa database at makabenipisyo sa mga programa at serbisyo ng pamahalaan.

Samantala, kasama rin sa naging hands-on training ang diskusyon sa mga ipinapatupad na mga karapatan at benepisyo ng mga PWDs. (JPG/PIA-Caraga)
