PIA Caraga to utilize live streaming during Candidates’ Forum

BUTUAN CITY, April 5 (PIA) – In line with the preparation for this year’s national and local elections, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Caraga has set-up the technical needs for the live telecast of the Candidates’ Forum come April 22 at the Little Theater of Morelos Campus in Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU) here.

According to PIA Caraga regional director Abner Caga, this is first in Butuan City where the Candidates’ Forum will be aired through live streaming. “We are continuously upgrading our technical capability to cater the needs of the public in terms of social media. This is just one of the many strategies that the agency will be utilizing as we prepare for the 2016 election,” he remarked.

Caga explained that the video live streaming platform allows customers to broadcast live video content using a camera or smartphone and a computer through the Internet, and viewers to play the content via the web, iOS and Android apps.

“We are encouraging the netizens to visit the PIA Caraga channel via Youtube and see the event – the Candidates’ Forum live on April 22, 2016. Let us maximize the use of our technology,” added Caga.

Butuanons to celebrate 2016 ‘Araw ng Kagitingan’

BUTUAN CITY, April 5 (PIA) – The city government here will be celebrating this year’s ‘Araw ng Kagitingan’ (Day of Valor) on April 9 through a short program, wreath-laying ceremony and 21 gun salute to be participated by government employees, private stakeholders and media.

The short program will be held at the Veteran’s Monument at the city library compound. Arsenio Cornites Jr., Butuan City Schools Division Superintendent will share his views on this year’s theme, “Isabuhay ang Kagitingan, Kapayapaan ay Pagkaisahan, Kamtin ang Mithing Kaunlaran.”

Also, Percianita Racho, president of Sons and Daughters Association, Inc. (SDAI) – Veterans Federation of the Philippines will lead the wreath-laying ceremony right after the program. The 21 gun salute will then follow.

By virtue of Executive Order No. 203, s. 1987, April 9 of every year is Araw ng Kagitingan. Proclamation No. 466, s. 1989 on the other hand, designated April 5 to 11 of every year as Philippine Veterans Week in order to “promote, preserve and memorialize the principles, ideals and deeds of the Filipino war veteran as a means to enhance patriotism and love of country, especially among the youth of the land.”

The week-long observance is an occasion to honor not only the Filipino war veterans who died or served the country but also to remember those who rendered honorable military service in defending the country in times of war or peace. PSA Caraga to undertake 2015 PH biz industry survey

BUTUAN CITY, Apr. 5 (PIA) - The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Statistical Services Office XIII (Caraga) will be conducting the 2015 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) and its rider survey, the 2015 Survey on Information and Communication Technology (SICT).

The 2015 ASPBI aims to collect and generate information on the levels, structure, performance and trends of economic activities of the formal sector in the entire country while the 2015 SICT will generate information on the availability, distribution and access/utilization of ICT among establishments.

Specifically, the 2015 ASPBI aims to collect and generate detailed information on employment, income, expense, inventories, tangible fixed assets, intangible assets and total assets of the establishments; generate indicators such as value added, labor productivity, average compensation and others necessary to evaluate the performance of industries at the national and regional levels; generate MSME (micro, small and medium establishments/enterprises) data using total employment; and gather information for the improvement of the list of establishments and enterprises.

In Caraga, PSA Field Staff and Hired Enumerators will be responsible for the distribution and collection of the questionnaires to the establishments starting April 13, 2016. The questionnaire can also be accessed and be accomplished online at https://aspbi.psa.gov.ph or https://sict.psa.gov.ph. PSA is authorized to collect information from businesses and industries under Republic Act No. 10625. The information collected shall be kept strictly confidential and shall not be used for purposes of taxation, investigation or regulation as provided under Article 55 of RA 10625. 43 AgSur farmers attend orientation on farm business school

PATIN-AY, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, April 5 – Some 43 farmers who are mostly Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARB) of Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) from the different barangays of Rosario, this province had recently participated in the orientation on Farm Business School (FBS) program conducted by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in partnership with the local government unit (LGU) and Department of Agriculture (DA).

The orientation was aimed to help farmers keep pace with the worldwide changes. It was also intended to enhance extension content from production extension to farm business management which focused on farm enterprise profitability. Individual Business Plan and record keeping are some of the outputs of said orientation.

Ang maong selebrasyon giobserbar karong tuiga uban sa temang,  “Karajawan ni Juana, Iapil sa Adyenda.”

Atol sa maong selebrasyon gipahigayon ang Search for Juana ng Bayan 2016 nga gisalmutan sa matag barangay sa maong lungsod.

Nanumpa usab atubangan ni Gobernador Sol F. Matugas ang mga bag-ong napiling opisyales sa Socorro Municipal Women's Council.

Lakip sa maong selebrasyon ang pagpahigayon sa Juana Got talent ug ubay-ubay ang mga presentasyon ang gipasundayag sa mga nagkalain-laing hut-ong sa mga kababainhan sa maong lungsod.

Sa samang adlaw, sila Gobernador Matugas uban ni Congressman Francisco Matugas ug Bise Gobenardor Arturo Carlos Egay, Jr mibisita sa barangay DoΓ±a Helen (Bay-ang), Brgy. Pamosaingan ug Brgy. Sudlon sa maong lungsod sa pag pangulo ni Mayor Denia Florano.

Mapasalamaton ug malipayon ang mga katawhan nga gibisitahan sila sa gobernador ilabina na sa mga proyekto nga ilang natagamtaman sama sa pagsemento sa DoΓ±a Helen to Socorro nga dalan, pagkongreto sa dalan sa brgy. Sudlon, Covered Court sa brgy. Pamosaingan ug uban pang mga proyekto diin kini mokabat sa P400 milyon nga infrastructure projects ug gilaumang aduna pay laing P900 milyon sa tuig 2017 alang sa pagtapos sa maong mga proyekto.
