SurSur DOST reveals 2015 first half accomplishment

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur, July 30 (PIA) – The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) bared recently major activities it has undertaken during the first half of 2015 in Surigao del Sur.

Carissa Lim, DOST chief here, said among other things that they were able to accomplish include Technology Transfer and Commercialization projects as well as Technology Training.

Some 10 commercial and/or industrial establishments have stood to gain out of these programs and projects, she pointed out.

Lim added that under technology transfer and commercialization, a number of machines or equipment amounting to a total of P1,988,236.50 have been delivered to seven commercial and/or industrial establishments for purposes of technology upgrading, improving product quality, enhancing production capability, and the like, citing laser engraver, dough kneader, roller, molder, rice huller-polisher, concrete mixer machine and other items of that ilk as technology intervention.

DOST has also conducted training on production planning and control besides understanding nutrition labels, it was learned.

Meanwhile, the DOST here has confirmed celebrating on July 24-28 the National Science and Technology Week with the theme “Philippines:  A Science Nation Innovating for Global Competitiveness.” (NGBT/Radyo ng Bayan-Tandag/PIA-Surigao del Sur)


Cebuano News: School Caravan gipahigayon sa lima ka mga barangay sa Surigao City

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte, Hulyo 30 (PIA) - Sa pagpadayon sa programang “School Caravan” sa probinsya pinaagi sa liderato ni Gobernador Sol F. Matugas, lima ka mga barangay ang gibisita ug nahatagan sa mga educational supplies para sa mga kabataang magtutungha kagahapon, Hulyo 29, 2015.

Atol sa maong kalihukan ug paghimamat sa mga paghimamat sa mga opisyales ug mga lumulopyo ilang sa moang lima ka mga kabarangay, ilang gipaabot ang dakong pasalamat ngadto sa gobernador sa padayon nga mga programa ug proyekto alang  sa kalambuan ug kaayohan sa mga barangayanon.

Sumala sa barangay kapitan sa brgy. Manjagao, nahatagan sila sa P100 mil ka pesos para masugdan ang bag-o nila nga konkreto nga brgy. Hall ug nahatagan usab sila sa livelihood project nga baroto diin dakong  tabang kini sa mga katawhan ngadto sa ilang panginabuhian.

Sa brgy. Cagutsan sumala kang kagawad Rosalinda Alejandra nakadawat sila sa P100 mil ka pesos alang ilang day care center.

Ang katawhan sa brgy.  San Jose dako ang pasalamat nga malampuson ang provincial development road gikan sa brgy. San Jose paingon ngadto sa sitio Boyhoc, nagpasalamat usab sila sa kantidad P200 mil ka pesos nga water supply alang sa tibook brgy ug kantidad P500 mil ka pesos nga nga day care center.

Ug sa  brgy. Sugbay dako usab nga pasalamat ni kagawad Pablito Alciso sa water tank ug mga garbage can nga ilang napuslan.

Samtang sa brgy. Bitaogan mapasalamaton si brgy. kapitan Jovelyn Alsong sa Health center, concreting road ug livelihood pinaagi sap ag pang apod-apod og baroto nga dakong tabang usab kini sa mga katawhan sa maong brgy.
