AgNor celebrates Flag Day

BUTUAN CITY, May 30 (PIA) - The provincial government of Agusan del Norte held a program on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Provincial Capitol grounds in commemoration of the Philippine Flag dubbed as the “Flag Days” from May 28-June 12, 2015.

The program started with a short tableau presenting the history of the Philippine flag rendered by the Nasipit National Vocational School, Nasipit, this province.

It can be recalled that on May 28, 1898 the Philippine flag was first raised in Imus, Cavite by General Emilio Aguinaldo, the first President of the Philippines under the so-called revolutionary government. The raising of the flag was a symbol of our victory over Spain.

As pledge of allegiance to the flag, the provincial officials and employees recited the 'Panunumpa sa Watawat.'


Through Republic Act 8491 or the “Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines," it is mandated to celebrate annually the Philippine flag on Flag Days including the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, the correct raising of the flag on the pole and the correct way of displaying the flag in public places in respect to the Philippine flag. Amante – Matba ang Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) tali sa mga manununod sa kabilin (heirs) ni Dr. Hortensio Rojales sa Carmen mahitungod sa pagrenta og luna alang sa himuo’ng Provincial Veterinary Quarantine Station aron maprotektahan ang publiko, livestock ug poultry industries sa probinsya batok sa mga sakit nga dala sa mga langyaw’ng mananap.

Matod pa sa nasangpit nga MOA, pagarentahan sa probinsya ang luna nga 290 sq.m. nga gipanagiyahan sa mga Rojales sa kantidad nga P2,500.00 kada bulan hangtud sa 10 ka tuig ug pwede kini mabag-o (renew) sigon sa kasabutan sa matag partido.
