Wind Signal No. 1 is now raised over Dinagat Islands, with more signals expected across the region. ⚠️ Possible hazards include: -Flooding -Landslides -Storm surge -Strong winds ✅ The public is strongly advised to: -Take precautionary measures and follow pre-emptive evacuation, if needed; -Prepare emergency kits and evacuation plans; -Stay informed via official sources: DOST-PAGASA, RDRRMC, LDRRMOs, PIA, and other government channels. In view of Tropical Storm Tino, which is currently inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and may affect the province of Agusan del Norte by tomorrow morning, the Agusan del Norte Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC)has recommended the suspension of classes in all levels across the entire province, effective tomorrow, November 3, 2025.

Surigao Norte LGU leads 'Kapihan sa Kapitolyo'

SURIGAO CITY, Sept. 9 (PIA) -- The Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte led recently a forum dubbed "Kapihan sa Kapitolyo," at the Provincial Convention Center, this city.

Gov. Sol Matugas said the forum, which is a semestral undertaking of the provincial government, provides a venue for the local chief executives, officials of different government agencies other stakeholders and members of the local tri-media to discuss pressing issues and problems in the province and city.

Several issues were discussed including the escalating prices of rice, scrapping of pork barrel, power curtailments affecting the economy of the province, alarming high rate of teenage pregnancy in Caraga Region being the number one in the country, insurgency problem in the mining site of THPAL, Taganito in Claver and the safety and compensation of its employees, rampant illegal drugs, security measures for the upcoming fiesta celebration, prevalence of illegal fishing or "LIBA-LIBA" in Siargao Island and the delayed construction of provincial hospital in Bas-ad, Placer.


The form was attended by Surigao City Mayor Ernesto Matugas with officials and representatives from the Department of Agriculture, Department of Education, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Health, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Commission on Elections, Department of Trade and Industry, Provincial Agriculture Office, Provincial Social Servicess Office, Provincial Health Office, Provincial Engineering Office, Provincial Planning and Development Office, Provincial Tourism Office and local tri-media.
