STWC-Task Force to launch Taguibo Water Supply Devt & Water Treatment Facility Service Project Info-mercial in Butuan

BUTUAN CITY, Aug. 29 -- The Save Taguibo Watershed Citizens’ (STWC) Task Force will be launching the Taguibo Water Supply Development and Water Treatment Facility Service Project Info-mercial on September 3,  1 p.m.-- 5 p.m. at the Almont Hotel’s Inland Resort, this city.

The Task Force is composed of People Power Volunteers for Reform (PPVR) Caraga Incorporated; Butuan Water District (BCWD); Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU); and Taguibo Aquatech Solution Corporation.

The activity aims to inform the public on the STWC-Task Force' duties and responsibilities, and to launch education materials in support to Taguibo Water Supply and Treatment Facilities project.

"We sincerely hope that our colleagues in the public and private sectors will be able to join us for the launching of this historical event as we believe you share our concern to ensure the adequate and continuous water supply not only for the present people in Butuan City, but most of all for the generations to come," said BCWD General Manager Engr. Anselmo Sang Tian.

Surigao City to commemorate 43rd Charter Day Anniversary

SURIGAO CITY, Aug. 29 -- The City Government of Surigao will commemorate its 43rd Charter Day Anniversary celebration on August 31, infront of the City Hall, here.

This year’s celebration with the theme, “SURIGAONON: MAG-IBAN KITA PARA SA KINATIBUK-ANG KALAMBOAN,” will start with a Thanksgiving Mass to be officiated by Msgr. Tirso N. Alcala at the City Cathedral followed by a Grand Parade to be participated by different government agencies, non-government organizations, socio-civic organizations and academe.

The formal opening of the celebration will start with the singing of the National Anthem to be led by the City Chorale Ensemble then the raising of the Philippine Flag to be led by Surigao City Mayor Ernesto T. Matugas, Governor Sol F. Matugas, Vice Mayor Danilo C. Menor, Vice Gov. Arturo Carlos Egay, Jr, all City Councilors and Provincial Board Members.

During the celebration Surigao del Norte 1st district Representative Francisco T. Matugas and Surigao del Norte 2nd district Representative Guillermo A. Romarate, Jr together with City Mayor Ernesto Matugas and Governor Sol Matugas will also deliver their messages.

The last part of the celebration is the awarding of prizes for best float, best marching band and best marching cadet to be followed by the community singing of the “Martsa Surigao.”

Surigao City celebrates its charter day pursuant to Republic Act No. 6134, Surigao was converted to a chartered city on August 31, 1970 with Pedro Espina as its first city mayor. (PIA-Surigao del Norte)
