It is moving Westward slowly. Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands and Camiguin Island will have rains with gusty winds due to TD Wilma. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains with at times intense rains. Minimal to minor threat to life and property due to strong winds. While the rest Northern Mindanao, the rest of Caraga, and Zamboanga Peninsula will have Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to TD Wilma. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains. The rest of Mindanao will have Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Moderate to Strong winds from Northeast to Northwest will prevail over the western sections of Mindanao with moderate to rough seas (1.5 to 2.8 meters). Elsewhere, moderate to strong winds from the Northwest to Southwest with moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 2.5 meters). Tagalog news: PNP, nagpahayag ng assessment para sa May 13 poll sa Surigao del Sur

LUNGSOD NG BUTUAN, Mayo 4 (PIA) -- Inanunsyo ng tanggapan ng Provincial Police Office ng Surigao del Sur sa pamumuno ni OIC Provincial Director P/SSupt. Antonio Taylan Jr. ang mga kinakailangang paghandaan upang bantayan ang mga boto sa gagawing May 13 polls sa nasabing probinsya.

Ayon kay P/C Insp. Edwin Noguerra, PPO Operation and Plans Chief, inaasahan nila na mapayapang maisagawa ang eleksyon sa kabila ng mga insidenteng hindi kailanman maiiwasan.

Matatandaan na sumiklab na naman ang isang election-related incident kamakailan lang sa bayan ng San Miguel na may 30 kilometro ang layo mula sa timog ng Tagum City.

Sa pagpupulong na isingawa ng Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) sinabi ni Noguerra na inagawan ng baril ang isang mataas na opisyal ng lugar kung saan tahasang namang inamin ng mga rebeldeng New People’s Army ang krimen.

Samantala, sa talumpati ni Nogouerra, idinidiin nito na mas aktibo ang mga rebelde ngayon laban sa mga taong gumagawa ng kabuktukan at kasamaan lalo na kung may pinapanigan silang mga kandidato ngayong halalan.

Dagdag pa ni Noguerra na sa pakikipatulungan ng Philippine Army at Commission on Elections at stakeholders, inaasahan nito na maging maayos ang halalan at sinisiguro nitong ipapatupad ang Secure and Fair Election (SAFE).
