It is moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h. Light to Moderate rains are expected over #TawiTawi(TurtleIslands), #ZamboangaDelNorte, #ZamboangaSibugay(Payao, Imelda and Malangas) within the next 2-3 hours. Surigao Norte all set for May 13 elections

SURIGAO CITY, May 11 (PIA) – The officials from Commission on Elections and Philippine National Police today said they are all set for the May 13 elections here in Surigao del Norte.

Comelec here revealed that a total of 492 PCOS machines were all successfully tested with reformatted compact flash cards (CFCs) in its best configuration to provide a 100% accurate reading of results.

A security plan and police deployment are already enforced to ensure peaceful and orderly elections in the entire province. Police personnel are assigned to the vicinity of the polling precincts.

“We are all hoping and praying that we will carry on the success of the 2010 May elections with no untoward incident,” Police Inspector Tessiel Ruby Moleta said.

Inspector Moleta particularly pointed out the manning of the checkpoints “24 hours” by the PNP-Provincial Public Safety Company .

COMELEC and PNP officials here are hopeful that the conduct of the 2nd automated election on Monday will be peaceful, orderly and successful. (SDR/PIA-Surigao del Norte)
