“I am requesting the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) to help us bring more budget allocation for this region to sustain our economic growth,” said Matugas.

The RDC chair made this statement as she was surprised by the slash of budget allocations to 16 other line agencies of government. “We don’t want this to happen and ask you to help me in lobbying in the government to increase more your budget so that we can move ahead,” said the provincial governor of Surigao del Norte.

In this same meeting, local government unit officials including Rep. Ma. Valentina G. Plaza also joined the RDC chair in requesting the national government for increase of budget allocation of all regional line agencies of the government for sustainable economic growth of the region.

The RDC asked the national government for an increase of budget allocation for DOLE, DAR, DENR, DPWH, DoH, DA, DENR, DAR, DTI, DoT, DSWD, AFP, PNP, DILG and DOST.
