By Jennifer P. Gaitano

BUTUAN CITY, Mar. 3 (PIA) -- The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Caraga is once again spearheading the observance of the Fire Prevention Month in March this year.

The observance kicked-off Friday through a motorcade around the city thouroughfares.

Since March is also Women’s Month, the BFP joined the Gender and Development Coordinating Committee (GADCC) during the opening ceremony of the Women's Month celebration through a fun walk and hataw exercise from the Agusan del Norte Provincial Capitol going to Guingona Park, Butuan City.

Sr Insp. Ray Antonio Restauro of the BFP-Caraga said the month of March is considered Fire Prevention Month of every year since this month has recorded several fire incidents.

Restauro also stated that BFP is continuously conducting information dissemination to the public on the prevention of fire everywhere.

“For any training that your agency would want us to assist you, our office is very willing to provide you the knowledge and skills on how to prevent and be safe during fire-related incidents,” said Restauro.

This year's Fire Prevention Month is anchored on the theme "Sunog at Sakuna Paghandaan, Kalikasan ay Pangangalagaan nang Matamasa ang Pag-unlad ng Bayan" (Prepare for Fire and Calamities, Reserve the Environment for a more Progressive Nation). (JPG/PIA-Caraga)
