Surigao Norte to hold job fair and mobile passporting in Siargao Island

SURIGAO CITY, April 20 (PIA) -- The provincial government of Surigao del Norte will simultaneously conduct a mobile passporting and job fair in Siargao Island next month.
Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Provincial Chief Emilio Pantejo said jobs seekers and those who want to have their passport renewed or those applying for new passports can take advantage of the opportunity while taking the time to also enjoy the summer activities in Siargao Island.
According to Pantejo, both activities will be conducted on May 7 to 8 at Dapa Municipal Gymnasium in Dapa town in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, National Statistics Office (NSO), PESO, and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
Pantejo said several POEA accredited recruitment agencies will conduct interviews and hiring.
“Interested applicants should bring with them pertinent documents such as passports, training certificates, bio-data and others,” he said.
For the mobile passporting, Pantejo said applicants are advised to bring with them the required documents such as NSO certified birth certificates for the new applicants, three colored photos as specified by the DFA, marriage contract, valid IDs and other supporting documents, and P1,200 processing fee.
Pantejo further revealed that the said activities are in support to the nationwide celebration of National Service Day on May 9 and the Health, Education and Environment, Agri-Aquaculture, Livelihood and Spiritual Renewal (HEALS) agenda of Gov. Small-scale irrigation project up for implementation

BUTUAN CITY, April 20 (PIA) -- The Sangguniang Panlungsod approved a resolution recently authorizing Mayor Ferdinand M. Amante, Jr. to enter into an agreement for the implementation of a small-scale irrigation project in support to the National High-Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP).
The resolution, authored by Councilor Angelo S. Calo Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture of the City Council, was in accordance with Republic Act 8435 otherwise known as the Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization Act to strengthen the agriculture and fisheries sector through modernization to attain food security, poverty alleviation, income enhancement and profitability, global competitiveness, and sustainability.
In connection with the program, the city government of Butuan will implement the installation and construction of one unit Wind Pump Irrigation System at Km. 7 Farmer’s Cooperative in Barangay Tungao, with a project cost of P350,000, which is envisioned to enhance the agricultural productivity, accelerate development, and improve the economic resources of the small farmers within the HVCDP cluster areas. Base sa gipagawas nga Proclamation No. 1, series of 2012 pinermahan bag-ohay pa lang sa hepe sa lungsod, ang Balangay sa Butuan gideklara nga usa ka National Culture Treasures sa kanhing pangulo sa nasud, Pangulong Corazon C. Aquino pinaagi sa Presidential Proclamation No. 86 niadtong Marso 9, 1987.
Ang proklamasyon usab naga-ingon nga ang mga balangays, sukad nga giproklamar nga National Cultural Treasures, kini nahimong centerpiece sa turismo nga mga kalihukan ug usa ka icon sa tinuig nga fiesta selebrasyon sa dakbayan.
Niadtong Marso 19, 2012 gisaulog ang ika 25th nga katuigan sukad kini naproklamar, ang Sangguniang Panlungsod nagpadayag sa ilang sentiminto sa pagdeklara sa Marso 9, 2012 hanglod sa Marso 8, 2013 nga Balanagy Silver Year.

Ang Balanghai Festival usa ka selebrasyon sa Butuan City para sa pagdumdum sa pagabot sa mga una nga lumalangyaw nga nanimuyo sa Pilipinas, sakay sa Balangay nga baroto. Sa panahon nga ni abot ang mga espanyol kaniadtong 16th century, ilang nakita ang mga Pilipino nga han-ay wala nagsalig sa ilang panimuyo sa ilang lugar nga gitawag og barangay.
