CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City (July 01) – The communist-New People’s Army (NPA) released their two hostages at Greenfield in Tagbina town, Surigao del Sur province, a belated report received at police regional command here on Wednesday stated.

A report received by the Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) headquarters at Camp Rafael C. Rodriguez here, identified the freed CAFGU Active Auxiliary (CAA) men as Reynante Mayordomo and Geomanni Morales.

The hostage-takers handed over the two CAA men to selected local negotiating team in Tagbina and Rosario, the police report said.

Report received from Surigao del Sur Provincial Police Office (PPO) stated that the freed two CAA men were immediately brought to Tagbina hospital for medical check up.

After medical check up, the freed CAA men were brought to Cadre Detachment in Tagbina for proper disposition, the PRO 13 said.

Motive of abduction and released of the CAA men is still not known.

It was recalled that the two CAA members were abducted allegedly by the NPAs last Friday (June 25) at 11 p.m. at their respective houses at Quarry 9, Purok 10, Barangay Bayugan 3 in Rosario town, Agusan del Sur province.
