Wind Signal No. 1 is now raised over Dinagat Islands, with more signals expected across the region. ⚠️ Possible hazards include: -Flooding -Landslides -Storm surge -Strong winds ✅ The public is strongly advised to: -Take precautionary measures and follow pre-emptive evacuation, if needed; -Prepare emergency kits and evacuation plans; -Stay informed via official sources: DOST-PAGASA, RDRRMC, LDRRMOs, PIA, and other government channels. In view of Tropical Storm Tino, which is currently inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and may affect the province of Agusan del Norte by tomorrow morning, the Agusan del Norte Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC)has recommended the suspension of classes in all levels across the entire province, effective tomorrow, November 3, 2025.

DOLE to lead 111th Anniversary of the Philippine Independence

BUTUAN CITY (June 4) – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through Administrative Order No. 259 signed by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is ordered to lead in the organization and implementation of the 111th anniversary of the Philippine Independence on June 12, 2009.

DOLE is directed to take the lead in the planning, coordination and implementation of the program of activities and events in celebration of Independence Day with the theme “Kagitingan, Kagalingan at Kasipagan Tungo sa Tunay na Kalayaan”.

The department is tasked to convene inter-agency organizing task force to plan, coordinate and implement effectively all programs, projects and activities related to this national event.

All departments, bureaus, offices, national government agencies, local government units and government owned and controlled corporations are also enjoined to give full support, assistance and cooperation to DOLE.

Active participation of all branches of the government in the Independence Day celebrations, as well as to enlist the participation of private sector groups and non-government organizations, so that the commemoration of the 111th anniversary for the country’s independence will truly demonstrate the spirit of patriotism, unity and national identity of the Filipino people. 4 associations in Surigao del Sur to avail DOLE’s livelihood assistance

Tandag, Surigao del Sur (June 4) – As part of the KALAYAAN ’09 celebration on June 12, four associations from this province will be receiving livelihood assistance from the Regional Office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) based on the proposal submitted.

This was revealed by DOLE-Caraga Provincial Director Herminigildo Daytoc in a phone interview with Philippine Information Agency here.

The recipient associations are the following: Carrascal Sikad-sikad Association – Procurement of 10 units tricykad and Mini-hardware cost P100,000.00; Fish Processor Association – Fish Processing (Bagoong and Dried fish) amounting to P100,000.00; Bislig City Community Development and livelihood Displaced Workers (BCCDLDW)/PICOP Displaced Worker – Broiler Production with Dressing Plant Facility amounting to P710,000.00; and BCCDLDW/Worker Alliance Trade Unions – Mineral Drinking Water Station amounting to P205,530.00.
