Elections in Caraga generally safe, peaceful

BUTUAN CITY -- Elections in the Caraga region became generally safe and peaceful with no major untoward incidents reported during the actual casting of votes and the entire electoral process, according to Philippine National Police (PNP) Caraga Director Christopher N. Abrahano, today, May 13.

PNP Caraga, in close coordination with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Philippine Coast Guard, and various stakeholders, implemented intensified security measures before, during, and after the polls.

On election day, Dir. Abrahano, together with key officials from the COMELEC Caraga and other security forces, conducted a joint inspection of polling places in Butuan City and Agusan del Norte.

“It has always been our goal to achieve zero election-related incidents in Caraga. Through intensified security measures and collaboration with our partner agencies, we have made the elections safe and peaceful, a promise we proudly delivered to the Caraganons,” Abrahano said.

He also thanked the PNP Caraga personnel and everyone involved in the electoral process for helping keep the 2025 national and local elections in the region safe and secure. (PNP PRO 13/PIA Caraga)
