DOLE-PDI conducts ‘Philippine Talent Map Initiative’ skills assessment

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte, Aug. 17 -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Province of Dinagat Islands ( PDI) satellite office successfully conducted the assessment on the Philippine Talent Map Initiative (PTMI) to 63 participants from May 25 to June 26, 2018.

The activity aims to assess the competencies of the participants through standardized assessment and survey.

The 27 employees of Water Ups Multi-Purpose Cooperative, job order personnel and CLP-enumerator of DOLE-PDI, 31 unemployed individual and five trainees of Gaspar Rodriguez Educational and Training (GREAT) Center, Inc. were among those who underwent the assessment.

DOLE-PDI personnel worked together to easily attain the given target and to supplement the limited resources by applying good practices.

Participants were provided with relevant information and evaluated based on the 21st Century Skills Assessment, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the learners, developing their desired career pathways and understanding the skills and competencies of the workforce. Resulting information provides relevant and current labor market information focus on what training the policy makers/ human resource developers will prepare for employees in the industry.

The result of the assessment will serve as a vehicle in addressing the job-skill mismatch and labor market information (LMI) gaps in a particular area and therefore increase the employability of workforce, creating more relevant programs to address workforce issues. (VLG/DOLE-Caraga/PIA-Caraga)

LUNGSOD NG BUTUAN, Agosto 17 (PIA) - Dama ang kasiyahan at pasasalamat ni Jose Evagelous Lawenko, chairman ng Diamond Transport Service Cooperative (DATSCO) sa lungsod ng Butuan nang ibahagi niya ang tulong na naibigay sa kanila sa transport sector sa pamamagitan ng solar electronic jeepney (e-jeep) mula sa Star 8 – isang innovative technology company sa bansa na patuloy na nagpapakilala ng makabagong green technology products and applications.

Dagdag pa ni Lawenko, marami rin umano ang nabigyan ng trabaho sa inisyatibong ito ng star 8 at sa tulong na rin ng Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA).

Binigyang-diin naman ni Rachael Aguaviva, Development Management Officer II ng MinDA, na ito ang kauna-unahang pure solar e-jeep na nailunsad sa Butuan City bilang suporta sa Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) Modernization Program ng pamahalaan.

Ayon sa kanya, ang Department of Transportation (DOTr), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) at Department of Energy (DOE) ang mga ahensyang nangunguna sa implementasyon ng programang ito at parte naman sa programa ng MinDA ang pag-facilitate sa mga transport sector na mapabilis ang kanilang pag-avail sa nasabing pure solar e-jeep sa Caraga region.

Malaking tulong din daw ang e-jeep upang mabawasan ang polusyon mula sa usok ng sasakyan na nagdudulot ng masamang epekto sa kapaligiran at sa kalusugan ng tao.

Dagdag pa ni Aguaviva, may subsidy na ibibigay ang gobyerno na aabot sa P80,000.00 para sa bawat benepisyaryo ng e-jeep sa transport sector mula sa ibat-ibang kooperatiba ng rehiyon.

Sinabi rin niya na madali lang ang pag-avail ng solar e-jeep ng mga kooperatiba dahil na rin sa tulong ng mga partner conduit bank institutions. Tutulong din umano ang Star 8 company sa pagproseso ng mga kinakailangang dokumento. (JPG/PIA-Caraga)
