TESDA-Caraga personnel undergo training on basic
photography, news writing

BUTUAN CITY, Agusan del Norte, July 28 (PIA) --
Division chiefs of the Technical Education and Skills Authoriy (Tesda) have
undergone a whole-day training on basic photography and news writing.
The training was held in time with the agency’s
mid-year assessment held at the Gazebo Resort Hotel in Cabadbaran City, Agusan
del Norte.

discussed and demonstrated basic concepts in photography, photo journalism and
composition.
Nora Molde, information officer of the Philippine
Information Agency, talked about basic news writing, while Regional Operations
Chief Robert Roperos briefed the Tesda personnel on what stories the government
information officers should and should not cover, as well as the need to
communicate the Philippine Development Plan.
Molde emphasized the need for the information
officer to have the “nose” for the news as well as the skills in writing.
These, Molde said, are some of the most important ingredients for the
information officer to put into a story the important events happening in their
respective offices or agencies.
Roperos underscored the things to be considered
in covering news events. He said government information officers should produce
developmental news that are positive and empowering.
Tesda-Caraga Regional Director Edwin Gatinao, a
writer and an editor, enjoined the personnel to produce news stories based on
the thrusts and programs the agency.
He encouraged the participants to contribute
news articles and photos to PIA-Caraga for posting at the PIA website,
PIA-Caraga blogspot, PIA Caraga Updates FaceBook account, and One Mindanao
