TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur (PIA) — Blogapalooza vloggers explored the diverse tourism destinations of Surigao del Sur, experiencing the province’s natural attractions, local flavors, culture, and warm community hospitality.
Provincial Tourism Officer Mary Vil Cruz-Chan said, “The multi-day tour on September 17-19 brought the delegation to various municipalities and cities, providing the content creators with firsthand experiences of the province’s coastal attractions, inland destinations, local products, and community stories.”
“Through their firsthand experiences, the vloggers can showcase the province beyond its scenic attractions by telling stories about its people, food, culture, and communities,” she added. “Their online content also provides an avenue for local destinations and products to reach audiences beyond the province.”
On September 17, the vloggers visited Tandag City, Cortes, Lanuza, and Madrid, where they explored local attractions and experienced the distinct character and offerings of each community.
Their journey continued on September 18 with a visit to San Agustin, where they experienced the municipality’s “sea to ridge” tourism offerings, from island hopping and coastal attractions to the inland scenery and agricultural experience at Alameda Farm.
The group then traveled to Cagwait, where they were warmly welcomed by Mayor Glenn Batiancila and introduced to the municipality’s local products and scenic white beach. The group enjoyed the coastal attraction and stayed overnight, experiencing the community’s hospitality.
On September 19, the vloggers continued their journey to Bislig City, where they marveled at the beauty of the famed Tinuy-an Falls. They then proceeded to Hinatuan to explore the crystal-clear waters of the Enchanted River.
In Hinatuan, Municipal Tourism Officer Gemma S. Millan and her team warmly welcomed the delegation and treated them to an array of fresh local seafood before the vloggers explored the famed Enchanted River, giving them a taste of the municipality’s coastal bounty and warm hospitality.
From Hinatuan, the group continued to Tagbina, known as the “land of aroma,” where they discovered its locally produced coffee and sampled distinct local delicacies.
The journey then brought them to Barobo where Mayor Ronito Martizano welcomed the group. The vloggers explored the scenic Bogac River, experiencing another of the province’s natural treasures while engaging with the local community.
The tour forms part of the continuing efforts of the Department of Tourism Caraga in collaboration with the provincial government of Surigao del Sur and participating local government units to promote the province’s tourism destinations, culture, cuisine, and locally made products through digital platforms and content creators.
The activity also highlights the growing role of digital content creators in tourism promotion, helping communities tell their own stories and introduce the diverse experiences that Surigao del Sur has to offer to a wider audience. (NGPB, PIA Surigao del Sur)
