(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Saturday, 19 July 2025) As of 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “CRISING” was located at 530 km east of Juban, Sorsogon (13.0°N, 128.9°E). It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. It is moving west-northwest at 15 km/h. Tropical Depression Crising is currently affecting Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte, while the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect the rest of Mindanao. Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to TD Crising. Flash floods or landslides are possible during moderate to at times heavy rainfall. Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and the rest of Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by the Southwest Monsoon. The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, also due to the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be moderate from the southwest to west, with moderate seas (wave height: 1.2 to 2.5 meters).

Buy-bust operation leads to arrest, confiscation of illegal drugs in Agusan Sur town

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -- Through the buy-bust operation conducted on March 9, 2024 (Saturday) at 10:30 AM by the personnel of Talacogon Municipal Police Station (MPS), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Caraga, it resulted in the apprehension of one suspect at Purok 1 Shaddol, Brgy. Zillovia, Talacogon, Agusan del Sur.  

Said successful anti-illegal drugs operation yielded to the confiscation of the following items, to wit:

a. One piece of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu;

b. One piece of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu (possession item) with an estimated total weight of more or less 0.8 grams with a value of P5,440; 

c. One green lighter;

d. One piece of five hundred-peso (P500) bill used as marked money;

e. Thirteen-peso coins in different denomination; 

f. One unit of cellular phone Vivo; and 

g. One coin pouch.

In consonance with the guidelines stipulated in police operational procedures (POP), body search to the perpetrator was done with the presence of lawful witnesses.

The arrested person and confiscated items were in the custody of the aforesaid MPS for proper disposition.
